An exciting opportunity to join a 13-month accelerated development programme is available for soon-to-be or recent graduates to join the Sanlam Data, AI and Engineering Academy – previously known as the Sanlam Digital and Data Academy. 

We are seeking bright minds who are eager to build and develop technical, analytical, and business skills while working on real business problems within the Sanlam Analytics and Group Technology ecosystems.

Requirements

Qualifying degrees

We will only consider students who already hold a degree or will obtain a degree by the end of 2025.

Data & AI track 

BCom, BSc, or BTech in: Information Technology / Computer Science / Data Science / Data Analytics / Business Intelligence

Software Engineering & AI track 

BCom, BSc, or BTech in: Statistics / Mathematics / Finance / Actuarial / Industrial / Electrical / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering, BEng

How to apply

We accept online applications from graduates who embrace continuous learning, like to solve complex problems, and wish to grow their career in either the data or software engineering fields. 

A basic understanding any of the following will be advantageous:
  • Programming languages and frameworks, such as Python, Java, .NET and SQL

  • Data analysis, modelling, and visualisation

  • Business and process analysis

    • Final year students or recent graduates with no professional working experience

    • Graduates with no more than 12 months’ post-university professional working experience

    • Work experience obtained as part of a work-integrated learning programme won’t be considered as professional working experience

    Knowledge and skills: A basic understanding of the following will be beneficial: Programming languages and frameworks, data analysis, modelling and visualisation, business and process analysis. 

    Personal attributes: Interpersonal savvy, decision quality, plans and aligns, optimises work processes, core competencies, cultivates innovation, customer focus, drives results, and collaborates.
